| SULPHURIC
ACID DILUTION – COOLING UNIT |
| |
| |
GRAPHITE INDIA
Sulphuric Acid Dilution and Cooling Units are mainly used
in fertilizer, battery and allied industries for dilution
of concentrated acid. Sulphuric Acid Dilution and Cooling
Unit consists of a mixer, followed by a heat exchanger.
Mixer is used for diluting concentrated sulphuric acid
to the desired concentration and the heat exchanger is
used for bringing down the temperature of dilute acid
to desired temperature (i.e to remove the heat evolved
during dilution of concentrated sulphuric acid). Complete
unit is mounted on a common carbon steel base frame. The
heat exchanger can be either of Polyblock type, Shell
and Tube type, or Cascade type. |

SALIENT FEATURES |
| |
Ventury
type dilution unit with non-return valves. Column type mixers
can also provided. |
Polyblock
type cooler with flexibility of adding more blocks to increase
heat – transfer area. |
Arrangement
to give parallel multifeed on service side to avoid temperature
– crossing or to maintain desired process side outlet temperature. |
As
corrosion severity of dilute sulphuric acid is greater at
higher temperature, one sacrificial block and one intermediate
chamber is provided, when required. |
